Rushing about the other day, trying to have a
conversation at the same time I mentioned bodystockings
- as you do. “What are body stockings?” I was asked, and somewhat taken aback I
replied “a stocking that covers the whole body.”
I then rushed off and returned later to a confused
lady. Living in a world of lingerie it is easy to forget that not everyone
has come across these terms. I then tried to clarify
my definition.
“Oh, do they hold you in then?” She asked.
“No, mine don’t,” I said, “there’s nothing practical
about the lingerie I sell - it’s exotic lingerie. It just makes you feel more
confident and sexy.”
Later I looked up the definition of bodystocking:
“A bodystocking is an article of
lingerie, similar to a leotard or a catsuit. It is much the same thing as a
unitard, but the term bodystocking is likely to be preferred when the garment
is worn as un underlayer in cold weather. It usually
has long legs, but it may have long, short or no sleeves. Bodystockings are
often crotchless. It is usually made from sheer fabric similar to those used
for stockings and tights, or from fishnet material. Some people consider bodystockings to be an Erotic garment”

“What’s fishnet? I’ve heard of that
but what does it look like?” - Perhaps something to be covered next issue.
I gave up and took some images for her
to see.
“Ooer! How do you go to the loo?”.
“All my (SuesNaughties) bodystockings are crotchless” came
my answer.
“Ooh! Well you can’t wear that out
can’t you?”
“Well … you can wear it under clothes,
and you can wear it with bra and panties.
And if your going to a swingers club just under
your coat…”
Well, you can imagine the conversation
then!
I am very grateful to this lady for
opening my eyes; I have been lost in my lingerie thinking that everyone knows
the intimate apparel jargon. I have
realised that not everyone is a
lingerie buff, and I need a lot more explanation and descriptions on my site!
